How to Play

Sixtep is a daily word puzzle game where you complete six-letter words using provided letters.

Rules:

• Complete a six-letter word on each row
• Each row has one locked letter (shown with a white background)
• You must use the locked letter in that position
• Each locked letter can only be used once per column
• Multiple valid solutions exist

Goal: Complete all six rows with valid six-letter words.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the daily puzzle reset?

A new puzzle is released every day at midnight in your local timezone.

Can I play more than one puzzle per day?

The daily puzzle can only be played once per day. With Sixtep Pro, you can play unlimited extra puzzles anytime.

What if I get stuck?

Take your time! There are no penalties. If you need to step away, your progress is automatically saved. You can also tap the flag icon to abandon the game if you want to start over tomorrow.

Why was my word rejected?

The word must be exactly 6 letters and exist in our dictionary of over 10,000 words. Make sure you're spelling it correctly and using only common English words. That said, we welcome submissions.

Can I hide the timer?

Yes! Go to Settings (accessible after completing a puzzle) and toggle "Show Timer" off.

What do I get with Pro?

How do I upgrade?

After completing any puzzle, tap "Stats" or "New Game" to see the upgrade option.

How do I restore my purchase?

If you've already purchased Pro on this device, tap the upgrade button and select "Restore Purchase" at the bottom.

What if I switch devices?

Use the "Restore Purchase" option on your new device while signed in with the same Apple ID.

Troubleshooting

The app won't load my game

Try force-quitting the app and reopening it. Your progress is saved automatically.

I'm not receiving notifications

Check Settings > Notifications > Sixtep and ensure notifications are enabled. You can also toggle notifications within the app's Settings.

The keyboard isn't responding

Make sure you're tapping on empty cells (not the locked letters or completed rows). Try restarting the app if the issue persists.

My stats aren't tracking

Stats are only tracked for daily puzzles, not extra puzzles (unless you have Pro). Make sure you're completing the daily puzzle, not abandoning games.

Sixtep stores all data locally on your device. We don't collect or transmit any personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
